1999-2003In June 1999, the Walloon Heritage Institute was asked to ensure permanent access to the vestiges for the public at large, in collaboration with the Liege Province Archaeological Department, the Ministry of the Walloon Region and the Liege Archaeological Institute, that had been awarded a contract by the Region in 1997 for a scientific study of the site. The Institute began work in October 1999.
Between 1999 and 2000, in the preliminary works for the creation of the Archeoforum “excavators” of the site were asked explore two zones holding prehistoric artifacts. The pace of the excavation had calmed down, and the work could be done in a more rigorous and systematic way. A visit of the excavations was organized for the Heritage Days in 2001, and attracted a large audience. |
